We travelled from Cindy's home to Spencer Iowa (about a 3 hour drive) today, Tuesday Sept 7th. It was much like how Sharron remembered it .... some changes but with a familiar feel. Although Sharron's memory is a little 'sketchy' in regard to the details of her stay here (old age hits us all!)
The back of Sue and Dennis' home looks down on the Little Sioux River. Beautiful wooded area with bird feeders attracting the birds by the window. A very peaceful and wonderful place to live.
We spent time chatting and then went into the local high school to watch a girls volleyball competition. Volley ball is not a familiar sport to us so it was weird watching a game where we were not too sure of the rules. Sport is a big part of the school community. Many students and teachers were there to support their team (very vocal in their support of their school). Even met up with one of Sharron's past teachers at the game. He remembered Sharron (not sure if that was a good or bad sign!) Off to a school football game on Friday evening.
