Wow - another big day of traveling. We drove for 470 miles (approx 720km) today but much of this time was driving in the mountains. We again reached altitudes of about 11,000 feet above sea level. The mountain driving was very beautiful but narrow, windy roads made it slow going (sometimes driving at 30-40 kms per hour). We spent 12 hours traveling today with minimal stops so we were all glad when we arrived at our destination.
Where are we staying?? We have a lovely 'lodge' called Sundance Bear lodge. There is a shared kitchen / lounge area and 3 bedrooms. There are another couple in bedroom 3 tonight, but they are leaving very early in the morning. We have 1 bedroom (with 2 queen beds) and an adjoining bathroom. Very lovely accommodation. We are off to Mesa Verde tomorrow to see native Indian dwellings. should be interesting.
Didn't get much of a chance to take some photos today. I've included 1 I took out of the car window while traveling towards dusk.
I suspect we won't be up and out of bed too early in the morning!!!
